API & Microservices Testing & Security Auditing

We test REST, GraphQL and microservice APIs for function, performance, load and security. Security checks follow the OWASP API Security list: who can see whose data, weak authentication, missing rate limits and unexpected inputs. You receive each finding with the exact request that shows it and advice on the fix, and we test again after you have fixed it.

How a project runs

  1. What we need from you

The API documentation or a request collection, test accounts for each kind of user, and a test environment if you have one.

  2. Scope and timing

We agree the scope and timing first, and we prefer a test environment. Where only the live system exists, we keep the load light.

  3. Function, performance and load

We check that the API does what it should, then how it behaves under load.

  4. Security checks

We check what each type of user is allowed to do, following the OWASP API Security list.

  5. Report and retest

You receive each finding with the exact request that shows it and advice on the fix. After you have fixed them, we test again.

What decides the price

These are the things that move the number. We put the figure in writing after a short call.

  • The number of endpoints
  • The number of user roles

Frequently asked questions

How is security testing different from functional testing?

Functional testing checks that the API does what it should. Security testing checks that it cannot be made to do what it should not. We do both, and they work well together.

Can you test an API with no documentation?

Sometimes, from the traffic of your app, but it takes longer and finds less. Documentation or a request collection makes the test better.

Will testing affect our live API?

We agree the scope and timing first, and we prefer a test environment. Where only the live system exists, we keep the load light.

Do you test GraphQL APIs too?

Tell us what your API uses. We say plainly whether we can take it on before you commit.

How much does API testing cost?

It depends on the number of endpoints and user roles. We quote in writing after a short call.
