Setting it up is not hard, but a few steps decide whether your mail reaches the inbox. This is how it works.

What you need first
A domain name that belongs to your company, access to its settings, and a decision on who needs an address. If you do not have a domain yet, we tell you what to buy and where.
The steps
The setup runs in this order:
- Buy the Google Workspace plan and create the accounts
- Prove to Google that you own the domain
- Point the domain's mail records at Google, so new mail arrives there
- Add SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, so your mail is trusted
- Set up phones and laptops, and move old mail if you have any
Why SPF, DKIM and DMARC matter
They are three records on your domain. SPF says which servers may send mail for you. DKIM signs each message so it cannot be faked in transit. DMARC tells receiving servers what to do with mail that fails those checks.
Without them, mail from your own domain is more likely to land in spam. Nobody can promise inbox placement, but missing records are the most common cause.

Do I need my own website first?
No. You need a domain name. The website and the email are separate things, though many businesses set up both together.
Can I use Gmail's free service with my domain instead?
Not in the same way. A free Gmail account cannot send and receive properly from your own domain. A business plan is built for that.
Can you do the DNS changes for me?
Yes. Give us access to your domain settings, or add the records we send you, and we check that everything works.
