Mobile App Development in India: Android Apps With a Proper Backend
We build Android apps for businesses across India, remotely from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. We have built Android applications as well as web software, including a React-based SaaS, so we know how an app and the system behind it fit together.
This page covers the three kinds of mobile app, whether you need an app at all, and what decides the cost, so you can plan before you ask anyone for a quote.
Our main page for this service: Custom Software.
First, do you need an app at all?
Before you plan an app, ask what it can do that a mobile website cannot. Good reasons are daily use, notifications that reach people when the app is closed, access to the camera or the location, and working on a weak connection.
If none of these applies, a fast mobile-friendly website will cost less and reach more people. We will say so before you spend anything.
The three kinds of mobile app
Most apps fall into one of three kinds, and the choice changes both the cost and what the app can do:
- Native apps are written for one phone system, such as Android, and can use every feature of the phone
- Cross-platform apps share one code base between Android and iPhone, with some limits on special features
- Web apps, including progressive web apps (PWAs), run in the browser and need no store listing, but cannot use everything a native app can
If a web app might be enough for you, read our comparison: PWA vs native apps.
More than the screens
An app needs a login, a database and a way for you to manage what is inside it. We build that side as well, because we also do web and backend development, so you do not have to find a second team for the server.
What decides the cost of a mobile app
Android apps start from ₹80,000. The price grows with the number of screens, plus a few features that sound small but take time. We quote in writing after a short call about what the app has to do.
- Online payments
- Maps and live location
- Push notifications
- An admin panel for your own staff
- Connections to the software you already use

Android first, and what about iPhone?
Android is what we build. If you need an iPhone version as well, or one app for both phones, ask us early. We will tell you plainly whether we can take it on, instead of finding out halfway through.
How a project runs
We start with a call about who will use the app and what they do. You review an interactive prototype before we build, and we show working progress every week. We test before anything goes live.
At handover you receive the full source code, written documentation and a training session for your technical staff. For 30 days after launch we fix problems at no charge.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a mobile app cost in India?
Our Android apps start from ₹80,000. The price grows with the number of screens and with features such as payments, maps, notifications and an admin panel. We send a written quote after a short call.
Do you build iPhone apps?
Android is what we build. If you need iOS as well, tell us at the start and we will say plainly whether we can take it on.
What are the three types of mobile apps?
Native apps, cross-platform apps and web apps. A native app is built for one phone system and can use all of its features. A cross-platform app shares one code base between Android and iPhone. A web app runs in the browser.
Do I need an app, or will a mobile website do?
If people will use it daily, or you need notifications, the camera or the location, an app is worth considering. Otherwise a fast mobile-friendly website usually costs less and reaches more people.
Who owns the app and its code?
You do. The source code is handed over at the end of the project, with documentation and a training session for your technical staff.
What happens after the app is live?
We fix problems for 30 days after launch at no charge. Anything beyond that, such as new features, we agree separately.
Can the app work without a good internet connection?
For some jobs, yes. Data the user needs can be kept on the phone and synced later. Whether that suits your app depends on what it does, so tell us how it will be used.
Not sure an app is the right thing?
Tell us what you want it to do. We will say if a website would be enough. Call +91-86194 70448 or email contact@gtsltd.in.
